He married Maria Contretas, on May 25th, 2016 in Lubbock, Tx and they have seven children from this union. He was born in Oklahoma on March 9, 1943 and moved to Texas as soon as he could and remained here the rest of his life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Earl started his own harvesting business at the age of 19. She passed away at her home on Friday, February 24. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Bill Smith, and his mother, Louise Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wayne worked for many years at National Linen and then went on to open Good Times Restaurant in 1980 with his partner and father-in-law, Bo Bowman. He shall be greatly missed by his family and friends. His hobbies were fishing, playing baseball, working on his broken car motors, playing horseshoes. They stayed in Arnett for ten years before building their dream home and moving back to Levelland in 1964.
