Hues X: Day 6 – The Magnificent End

Day 6 of Hues X was a definite crowd-puller with the most popular and entertaining events reserved. With events like Live Cooking, Duet Singing, and Fashion Show, Hues X ended on a grand note.

Instrumentals

The events for the day commenced with Instrumentals, a refreshing segment witnessed by a bunch of music enthusiasts and the judges – Dr. Nagaraja U and Dr. Vinu Thomas. The extremely talented contestants let their instruments speak for themselves, and proudly displayed their abilities ranging from on-the-spot improvisation to playing compositions of their own.

Winners:

1^st– Shared by Rishi Saincher (4^th year) and Upasak Mukherjee (TIPS)

2^nd– Divyansh Sinha (1^st year)

3^rd– Snehashish (TIPS)

Live Cooking

With unlimited entries, this event saw the participation of a whopping 38 teams. The teams were expected to prepare a dish of their choice within a time-limit of 1.5 hours, without the use of fire. With a large number of contestants cramped up in closed quarters and the exhausted organizers breathing out fire, the event managed to replicate the chills, thrills and yells seen in a typical cooking reality show. The judges – Dr. Sandhya and Mrs. Priya, went through the painful process of tasting each dish and declared the following teams as the winners:

1^st– Team from TIPS

2^nd– Shared by two teams from TIPS and 2^nd year

3^rd– Shared by two teams from 3^rd year and 4^th year

Quiz Finals

The six teams who survived the preliminary rounds conducted on Day 4, fought ferociously in this arena for the battle of wits. Judges for the event were Dr. Anupam Singh and Dr. Wasiur.

Mad–ads

The evening events of the amphitheatre began with this hilarious segment. With only one team allowed per batch, the teams took it upon themselves to advertise their wackiest of products, in every way possible. Their campaigning strategies left the audience in fits of laughter and gave the judges- Dr. Arun Urala and Dr. Kalyan Chakravorthy, a tough time in deciding the winners.

Duet Singing

The contestants sang a medley of various popular Bollywood as well as western numbers. The sound of their melodies wafting through the air, combined with the setting sun created a serene atmosphere. Judges of the event were Dr. James Gonsalves and Dr. Muralidhar V Pai.

1^st– Naznin Akhtar & Swagata Saha (3^rd year)

2^nd– B. Gayathri & Apoorva Sharma (3^rd year)

3^rd– Shared by Cheong Yi Chen & Jonathan Jong (4^th year) and Shweta Bhatt & Ruhul Mohammed (4^th year)

Fashion Show

The last and most awaited event of the day, was worth all its wait and kept the audience thoroughly entertained throughout the show. The teams came up with unconventional themes for the show, like “Human Anatomy” and “Rubik’s Cube”. They strutted down the ramp with utmost confidence, displaying fantastic creations of their own. Dr. Shobha Kamath and Dr. Namit were the judges of the event.

With the end of the final event of the day, the overall scores were calculated and the much anticipated results of Hues X were announced. Winners of Hues X are as follows:
